Stray cats abandoned by their mother and father, were constantly rejected by all those around them, running from house to house stealing food from trash and other pet’s bowls. They were further guarded and fearful since a large male figure had unsuccessfully tried to trap them with a cage and used a large towel as a net. However there was hope. One diligent loving caregiver simply fed them each morning and never gave up hope that one day they would accept her and trust in people! Today was that day. My daughter came running inside and said “DADDY, DADDY, all it took was time”! What a message for the wounded hearts of so many adults and kids that were physically, mentally, or spiritually abandoned and rejected by their parents or primary caregivers! Not just orphans, but those who had parents there physically, but emotionally and spiritually absent. Those who grew up constantly working for attention and seen as stealing time, money, and energy from other people, siblings, or interests that were obviously more important! LISTEN TO YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER SAY, “There is hope!” You can trust God and people again!! It only takes time! Time in an environment where you can receive love from a consistent caregiver and learn to trust again! “IT ONLY TAKES TIME”. “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Deut 31:6)! A word of inspiration to parents and diligent caregivers; do not give up hope! Your consistent unearned love, time, and attention is making an impact and preparing the way for a legacy of grace, acceptance of God their Heavenly Father, and You! Don’t leave and don’t quit!
